The City of Fort Lauderdale will partner with My Park Initiative, LLC, to design, construct, operate, and maintain a pickleball facility on the southwest corner of Snyder Park, located at 3299 SW 4th Avenue.
The complex will be open to the public, and the site will feature up to 40 pickleball courts, a restaurant, lakefront beach area, access to kayaking and paddle boarding, bocce ball courts, shuffleboard courts, spots for beach volleyball and tennis, plenty of parking and much more.
This public-private partnership would create an amenity for the entire community and provide recreational programs similar to those made available at other City parks. The new facility promotes a healthy and engaging community by offering a diverse range of recreational and educational programming.
The City continues public outreach efforts to solicit input from the community to better understand the priorities, desires, and concerns of all residents.
In August 2023, the City Commission opted to take no action regarding a petition to enact a proposed ordinance requested by the Save Snyder Park Petition Committee. The proposed ordinance requested that the City declare all areas of Snyder Park as a public space reserved only for natural growth, vegetation, and enjoyment of citizens as a public park.
