The City of Fort Lauderdale and the Florida Panthers partnered to restore and revitalize the War Memorial Auditorium, situated on the west end of Holiday Park. The Fort Lauderdale War Memorial Auditorium is transforming the city’s largest park into a vibrant community recreation and entertainment destination and serves as an integral part of this city’s bright future for decades to come.

This state-of-the-art ice facility features two regulation-size rinks, including a dedicated community ice rink with programming for all ages, as well as the Panthers new team practice rink with stadium seating where local fans can catch their favorite players in action.

The Heart of Holiday Park, Revitalized

Standing as a tribute to military heroes on the western end of Fort Lauderdale’s 93-acre Holiday Park, the historic War Memorial Auditorium first opened in 1950 as a popular music and entertainment venue, drawing U.S. Presidents and celebrity icons from Buddy Holly to World Boxing Champion Héctor Camacho over the decades.

Upon completion, the newly adapted 144,000-square-foot sports and entertainment venue will debut as a recreation hub for all members of the community, and continue to serve as an honored memorial for Broward County’s military veterans under the stewardship of the veteran-owned and led Florida Panthers.

When complete, the new War Memorial Auditorium will feature two NHL regulation-sized indoor ice rinks, including:

  • Baptist Health IcePlex - Florida Panthers’ new practice rink with stadium seating
  • Dedicated community rink for public skating, youth & adult hockey and figure skating programs
  • South Florida’s first-of-its kind ballroom style concert & performance venue
  • Community, recreation, athletics & fitness programming for all ages
  • Sit-down indoor & outdoor dining
  • And much more!
